In this weeks episode of our informational live series ‘The RATL Roundup,’ Rugby ATL invited three more members of our Summer Residency to share their backgrounds with the game, and their first encounters with the professional environment here at Rugby ATL. For episode twelve, VPO Kevin McCorry got to sit down and chat with Kyle Peter of Western Washington University, Dez Maiava of Western Michigan University, and Gordon Smilanich of Central Washington University, to talk about their experience with camp before its conclusion.

Rugby ATL Posts Tenth Episode of ‘The RATL Roundup’ Series

On July 16, 2020, ‘The RATL Roundup’ hosted the second part of our Summer Residency Camp series, and featured the coaches who took part in the learning experience down here in the 404. Involved in the camp were coaches from the University of Washington, Western Washington University, the University of Louisville, Kennesaw State University, and USA Rugby South. After presenting to the coaches an onboarding meeting of our values, and with a presentation on leadership from coach Scott Lawrence, our visiting coaches witnessed four days worth of camp: before they had the chance to sit down in the redeveloped business side of our headquarters to comment on what they had seen.

Rugby ATL Posts Ninth Episode of ‘The RATL Roundup’ Live Series

For this week’s episode of our informational live series, ‘The RATL Roundup,’ Rugby ATL had on three of our newest residents on-camera to chat about their experiences so far, members of our Summer Residency Camp, Rocco Arnold of St. Bonaventure University, Dominic Odden of St. John’s University, and Damoreon Travis of Life University. After a rigorous and meaningful first week of camp, the three young men gathered around our granite island in the player lounge to talk about their initial experiences.

Rugby ATL’s Pathway 404 Camp Begins

Seventeen new faces stepped into Headquarters on the morning of Monday, July 6th, as the first members of Rugby ATL’s Summer Residency Camp of our new youth development program, Pathway 404. College players from all around the Eastern Seaboard and the midwest made their way down to Marietta over the weekend, to take part in the franchise’s first-ever development program tailored for collegiate players.

Atlanta, Georgia – This week, on ‘The RATL Roundup,’ Rugby ATL had on some of the earliest members of the franchise, in Sam Peri, Samuel Chaney, and Eamonn Matthews. A little over a year ago, each man dropped what he was doing at the time for a shot at becoming a professional athlete in the MLR, joining Rugby ATL for the fall development season with the 404.

Major League Rugby (MLR) today announced the renewal of Paladin Sports as the Official On-Field Kit Provider for the 2021 MLR season. During the shortened 2020 season every team, was outfitted with Paladin kits providing a professional look and feel on and off the pitch. Paladin will continue to work with MLR teams to design and create player kits, and is developing new designs for the 2021 season.⠀

Paladin Sports has a strong international reputation for producing quality sporting apparel, particularly within professional rugby. Established during the 2019 season, the MLR-Paladin partnership represents a foray into high performance rugby in North America. All team home and away kits are expected to be revealed to fans in November 2020 and will be available for purchase by fans.⠀

“We're delighted to continue our partnership with Paladin into 2021.They've been an excellent part of the team this past year and we're looking forward to continued growth with them," said MLR Commissioner George Killebrew. “We were extremely impressed with the wide range of offerings Paladin was able to provide to our teams in the design process, and even more impressed with the final quality of the team kits. There's no doubt that Paladin is first-class in on-field kits for MLR players and replicas for fans."⠀

MLR launched in North America with seven teams in 2018, advancing to 13 teams in 2021. The League features 12 teams from the United States and one from Canada.⠀
