Alex MacDonald earned his B.A. in Business Administration at The Citadel, a Military College of South Carolina where he excelled in the classroom, in the Corps, and on the rugby pitch as the Captain of the rugby team. He then accepted an opportunity at Life University where he earned his M.S. in Positive Psychology, fueling his passion for coaching and developing young athletes into sustainable leaders of the community.

MacDonald played for Trinity College Dublin, in the All-Ireland League for 2 seasons before signing with Rugby United New York and Major League Rugby. He also served as their Community Outreach Director across the Tristate area and his efforts were recognized in the Spring of 2020 when he won the MLR Game Changer Award, for going above and beyond to build rugby pathways for our youth.

A South Carolina native, MacDonald returns to grow the game across the 6 southern states Rugby ATL covers. He will look to establish close relationships with the youth clubs, high schools and Universities to provide their players and coaches the opportunities and resources for individual progression through a “Rugby Experience” campaign he has launched.
