Commitment to Growing the Rugby Community
For Immediate Release:
May 13th, 2021
Marietta, GA- Rugby ATL’s commitment to growing the game at the grassroots level leads to a new USA Rugby Member benefit.
Over the past two years, Rugby ATL has traveled across the Southeast developing the rugby community at the grassroots level.

Alongside their partners, Rugby ATL assisted in the development of over 3,000 youth rugby players from 5-19 years of age. 45% of these players identify as female, with 83% from an ethnic minority, and 80% from under-resourced communities. Rugby ATL is proud to know these initiatives have positively empowered more youth in our community through rugby.
At the collegiate level, 57 different University student-athletes, 14 collegiate coaches, 17 Columbian International coaches, and players participated in various business seminars, leadership training, or rugby development interactives. Knowing community growth through rugby begins with leadership, supporting the development of current and aspiring leaders is paramount to the overall sustainability of the sport.
Currently, there are 13 members of Rugby ATL who have represented the United States on the men’s & women’s international stage. Each one of them will tell you that the experience, characteristics, and values developed through this sport, have made them successful enough to represent their country internationally, graduate from college, and have helped accomplish their highest goals.
Now, any and all currently registered USA Rugby players, coaches, referees, and admin can redeem a $5 ticket to any Rugby ATL home matches with proof of an active USA Rugby Membership.
“We want to encourage players, coaches, and referees across the Union to come to the game, learn from the opportunity, but most of all, enjoy the rugby experience. This isn’t just about the Southeast, but an opportunity for us to help grow the game across the country and spread the tremendous values that come from within the rugby community,” said Rugby ATL Owner, Marcus Calloway.
That is in essence, the commitment of accountability from Rugby ATL’s leadership to the community, the continuous development of self-sustaining leaders.
