Rugby ATL Airs Fourth Installment of ‘The RATL Roundup’ Live Series
Atlanta, Georgia- On May 26th, 2020 Rugby ATL released our fourth episode of The RATL Roundup, our weekly live stream, featuring Pathway 404 Academy Director of Athlete Performance James Paul & Athletic Trainer Brian Roberts. Vice President Kevin McCorry kicked off the round table discussion by asking James Paul, affectionately known within our franchise as JP, to put the significance of his role in our organization into his own words.
“It’s a ton of fun. Especially because I get to have hands-on and real interpersonal connections with the guys, and with these 404 Academy players coming through, I get to employ PACE at the very outset. Put out by Coach Lawrence and the principles of Rugby ATL, we get to change people, and enable them to thrive.”
Brian Roberts, when asked about his day to day operations for Rugby ATL, explained his responsibility to the team in his familiar cool and composed style.
“On our end with Barbour Orthopedics, we look at treating any injuries that the athletes might go through, and considering that we’re in a high contact sport, there are going to be quite a bit of injuries. We have excellent team doctors, like Dr. Scott Barbour, Dr. Tony Human, Dr. Douglas Linville. They can all treat our players very well, and further assess what their injuries are, so they can communicate with us what we can do on our end, so that we can relay that information to the coaches.”
As our Q&A progressed, both men hailed their support systems as the root of their success, for the wealth of experience, the strength of principle, and the instinct to give back to our community that they too continue to improve from. With player safety and well being at the forefront of their shared mission, in accordance with both CDC regulation and the conditions for opening approved by Governor Brian Kemp, our medical staff works diligently, communicating constantly in order to provide our players the necessary protection to continue to #PushThePACE.
