MARCUS CALLOWAY

Marcus Calloway received his Bachelor of Arts in 1972 from Troy State University in Troy, Alabama. He earned his Juris Doctor from Woodrow Wilson College of Law in 1976 and was admitted to the State Bar of Georgia shortly thereafter. In 1977, Marcus opened S. Marcus Calloway, P.C. In 1989, Marcus entered partnership with Ramsay and Calloway Title Services Inc.; he formed Calloway Title and Escrow, LLC in 1997. Since his admission to the State Bar of Georgia in 1976, Marcus has focused on real estate law with an emphasis on examining commercial title and crafting title insurance commitments, certificates, and policies.

Marcus is a member of the Georgia Bar Association, the Atlanta Bar Association, and the Southeast Land Title Association. He frequently presents seminars on real estate title matters. In 2013, Marcus received The George A. Pindar Award from the Real Property Law Section of the State Bar of Georgia for his contribution to and accomplishments in the field of real property law. Marcus was named Title Person of the Year by the Southeast Land Title Association in 2017.

Marcus believes in supporting organizations that have contributed to his success in life including the Prattville High School wrestling team and the Troy State University athletics department. He is a founding member of Angels on Earth, an organization that donates its proceeds to the Cancer Wellness Center at Piedmont Hospital Atlanta, and he often contributes to The Giving Kitchen, Men Stopping Violence, and the YMCA. He also supports the Captain Planet Foundation and the Chattahoochee Riverkeepers.

But above all Marcus is an avid rugby fan and as such obtained the rights to the professional rugby club now known as Rugby ATL.

Marcus also serves as the Secretary of Atlanta Renegades Forever, Inc., a non-profit organization dedicated to reinvigorating rugby in the Atlanta market; he enjoys cheering on “The Renegades”.

Marcus and his wife, Clea, live in Atlanta, Georgia. He is the proud father of three daughters. His personal motto is: “Respect All. Fear None. Expect Victory.”
