Maciu Koroi began playing rugby while in elementary school in Suva, Fiji. In 2009 he attended Queen Victoria School where he continued playing rugby league and grew his passion for the sport.
At the age of 17, Koroi and his family moved to Sacramento, California where he quickly found his home in rugby once again, this time in rugby union.
Moving to the United States in 2011, Koroi began playing for the Sacramento Islanders his senior year of high school in 2012-2013. Wanting to progress his rugby career, Koroi joined the Sacramento Lions in 2013 and began playing with them until 2015. In 2015 he made the decision to go to Life University and pursue his undergraduate degree in Business Administration. While at Life, Koroi and his team made it to the National Championships in ‘16, ‘17, and ‘18 winning the championship in ‘16 and ‘18. In his rugby career thus far, Koroi has been called up to the Men’s U20 XVs National Team and was named a 1st Team Collegiate All American. Koroi also played with the USA Falcons in the SUDA Americas Sevens Tournament in South America.
When he isn’t playing rugby, Koroi focuses on his barbering skills as founder of Bula Cuts. He also enjoys being active outdoors and exploring Atlanta.
